Bye bye week 7 :)

As Groucho Marx said “Time flies like an arrow”; week seven is over. We are flying into week 8. Even though these weeks are flying, we are making use of each moment indulging in all the given activities and working on our projects. This week we had to find a partner to share our project with, and we had to discuss learner autonomy and one-computer classrooms. I believe learner autonomy is important not only in his academic life, but teaching the student to depend on himself in learning is preparing him/her to be independent in his/ her social life. Learner autonomy doesn’t merely depend on the teacher alone because if they student didn’t work and feel its importance it is worthless. Moreover, having one computer in a class is so interesting because it adds motivation and an element of competition among students, but sometimes a computer lab is essential for students to depend on themselves and work individually to develop their autonomy. Every week the articles and more interesting and the discussions are more beneficial and informative. I would like to wish all great week 8 and good luck in your projects or plans.
Regards,
Karen

  1. Hello Karen,

The mission that I like to accomplish before the Webskills course ends shall be to post comment to all participants' blog. In doing so, I shall have the pleasure reading all the posts and learn from them.

You are right, students should have possessed intrinsic values in order to find meaning to what teachers impart to them.

All the best wishes for you.

  2. Hello Karen,
Yea.. time goes like an arrow. I agree with you about the learner autonomy value in particular and I want to share with you this question: don't you think that learner autonomy requires more effort from the teacher though it is a student-oriented? I mean that teachers have to plan for activities and tasks that students can do by themselves.
