WEEK 6 - Interactive Week

I would like to start this post by expressing how sad I am for Muhammad loss. May God rest her soul in peace and give them strength and faith to bear this great loss. I can’t believe how fast days are passing; week six is over. This week I started to implement technology in my classroom. I introduced a class on nice net for my ENGL 003 reading class. I posted one reading text relative to the chapter topic, and a question is posted. Students are supposed to read the text and answer the question. Then, they should at least comment on one of their friend’s comment. At the end of each week I will post a new text and give them their grades as class work grades. It is a good start; students are motivated and their posts are interesting. I also used power point presentation as a warm-up activity for one of the chapters. It was the first time I used power point, and I was really happy that I did it. I will implement it in my classes because I felt it is enthusiastic. It is so helpful to use interactive power point presentations because students are integrated and involved which is more motivating than merely listening passively to a power point presentation. The suggested articles for managing large classrooms and integrating technology in them are so useful. The given activities are applicable also for normal size classes. Wishing all a great week seven!

  1. Hello Karen,

I, too, am so sad for Muhammad's loss. It's a terrible thing to lose one's mother. I'm sure that everyone in our course sends him their love and support.
